ASTRONOMY 101: WHAT’S UP IN THE WINTER NIGHT SKY? With Rich Lohman Register View Cart

Rich Lohman
The highlight of the Winter Sky is, for many people, the Orion constellation. But do you know about the Orion Nebula, lying just below Orion’s belt? With binoculars and a telescope we’ll get a closer view of this “star nursery”. What about the Pleiades? Can you easily locate this beautiful open star cluster high in the night sky? These objects, plus the beautifully-colored stars of the Winter Hexagon, will be the subject of this Winter class. We’ll have good looks at Venus, Saturn and Jupiter too! During the 6 weeks of the class there will be at least one visit to my home observatory in Woodacre, http://overthehillobservatory.net
